A change in the requirements for the bumper was introduced. TRTA was involved in the decision-making process.
The first proposal was that the underside of the bumper should be no more than 20 cm away from the road surface. Partly due to the lobbying from TRTA, this distance was extended to 45 cm.
The new requirements will apply from 1 September 2021. Any vehicles for which a new type approval has been requested after 1 September 2019 will already be subject to the new requirements.
